Job Description

Senior HR Business Partner role providing strategic and operational HR support for cement plant locations across the US and Canada, with on-site presence required from the Leamington, UT plant location.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant and operations leaders to deliver strategic HR programs aligned with business needs across the full employment lifecycle
  • Provide subject matter expertise in leadership, organizational effectiveness, organization structure, and human capital processes to support sustainable business results
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to HR Business Partners at assigned plant locations
  • Oversee and manage employee and labor relations matters, including terminations, performance management, complaints, and disciplinary actions
  • Support and manage union contract negotiations and interpretations, including grievances and arbitration, with guidance from HR leadership and the Labor Relations team
  • Investigate and document employee complaints (ADR) and participate in EEOC and complaint meetings as required
  • Manage internal and external recruiting activities for assigned plant openings
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and new hire integration for plant employees
  • Provide education and coaching on performance management during the review process
  • Analyze workforce metrics (turnover, engagement, attrition) and recommend action plans to leadership
  • Review and approve personnel changes, including salary and position changes, new hires, and separations
  • Support employee separation documentation and conduct exit interviews to identify trends
  • Support talent review, succession planning, and individual development planning
  • Coordinate and deliver required HR training in collaboration with the Learning & Development team
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Promote and follow safety guidelines and advocate for safety programs and initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-year/Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Preferred SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee information and HR records at all times
  • Ability to work onsite at assigned locations in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and build strong relationships across functions and/or sites
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor law; experience in union environments preferred
  • Proficient in HRIS systems; experience with UKG or similar HCM platforms preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to coach and develop more junior HR professionals
  • Ability to analyze HR data and people metrics, translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites
  • Knowledge of talent management, succession planning, and workforce development
