Job Description
Talent Acquisition Recruiter at First Hawaiian Bank is responsible for full-cycle recruitment, focusing on non-exempt front-line staff, candidate experience, and collaborating with hiring managers to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee branch and department job postings, actively screening and interviewing candidates for branch roles and entry-level administrative positions.
- Develop sourcing strategies to build a candidate pipeline for assigned roles using online job boards, social media, and community outreach.
- Review eligibility, conduct interviews, and track progress to ensure thorough assessment of qualifications and cultural fit.
- Present qualified candidates to hiring managers with appropriate documentation; communicate selection or non-selection decisions.
- Exercise sound judgment to recommend hires and negotiate compensation with managers and candidates.
- Assess urgent staffing needs and coordinate with external resources to provide temporary support as required.
- Lead New Employee Welcome sessions on a rotating schedule, conveying Bank and HR policies and procedures.
- Represent the bank and HR at recruiting events such as job fairs and professional networking occasions.
- Prepare and analyze staffing reports, using data analytics to inform talent and business decisions.
- Manage job requisitions and postings in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure an efficient process.
- Serve as primary back-up to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator for onboarding and other administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
- At least 3 years of professional work or office experience, including a minimum of 1 year in full-cycle recruitment
- General knowledge of employment and labor laws, plus awareness of industry best practices
- Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with applicants, employees, and management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight timelines
- Active listener with consultative skills and a results-driven approach
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft 365 and HR systems
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency, capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound hiring judgment

The ideal candidate will have
