Tribal Human Resources Specialist
Job Description
Support HR operations across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and workforce data systems while assisting Tribal benefits administration and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist and coordinate recruitment and onboarding for new hires, including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and arranging orientation for internal and external applicants.
- Handle HR data entry in Paycom, including processing transfers, pay changes, HR corrections, and other personnel updates.
- Provide responses to routine HR policy and procedure questions; triage more complex items to HR Managers.
- Create employee communications such as posters, multimedia content, and Paycom communications.
- Support team member recognition programs.
- Assist HR leadership with special HR projects, including policy updates and process improvements.
- Maintain record keeping and compliance for benefits plans.
- Support the Tribal Benefits Manager with administrative duties related to benefits.
- Communicate features of active benefits programs effectively.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager and Director on implementation of benefits-related policies and procedures.
- Review benefit-related invoices for accuracy and submit to Accounts Payable for payment.
- Submit and process check requests.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, business administrative support, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong written skills for drafting emails, policy updates, and employee announcements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Excel and Copilot; Paycom expertise preferred.
- Effective communication in English; Spanish bilingual fluency preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, move, and work throughout office areas and properties, including walking up to 1 1/2 mile, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.
- Typically housed in an office environment.
- Ability to grasp, bend, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing at least 25 lbs. intermittently, with sufficient hand dexterity to use office equipment (including a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment, and multi-line telephone).
Location: Palm Springs, CA (onsite)
