Responsibilities
- Make numerous outbound calls to educational institutions, references, and other third parties to verify applicant information during pre-employment screening.
- Follow up on verification issues to ensure timely completion within hiring timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of all verification attempts and outcomes.
- Collaborate with Onboarding Specialists, Hiring Managers, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Regularly audit drug testing rosters to verify that employee assignments align with policy, job functions, and work locations; update records and correct discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files to ensure required documents are collected and properly filed.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HR records.
- Respond to questions from applicants and employees about policies, benefits, and hiring processes; escalate complex inquiries to senior HR staff.
- Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes such as layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
- Provide clerical support to the HR department.
- Handle additional HR-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to quickly learn and work with a human resources information system (HRIS) and related applications
- Must have a valid state-issued ID and be able to pass a pre-employment background check
