Responsibilities

  • Make numerous outbound calls to educational institutions, references, and other third parties to verify applicant information during pre-employment screening.
  • Follow up on verification issues to ensure timely completion within hiring timelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of all verification attempts and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Onboarding Specialists, Hiring Managers, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Regularly audit drug testing rosters to verify that employee assignments align with policy, job functions, and work locations; update records and correct discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files to ensure required documents are collected and properly filed.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HR records.
  • Respond to questions from applicants and employees about policies, benefits, and hiring processes; escalate complex inquiries to senior HR staff.
  • Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes such as layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department.
  • Handle additional HR-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to quickly learn and work with a human resources information system (HRIS) and related applications
  • Must have a valid state-issued ID and be able to pass a pre-employment background check
