Director of Human Resources

In this onsite role at Nexus at Cahokia in Sauget, IL, you will lead the Human Resources function for the facility and help align day-to-day people practices with the organization’s talent strategy. As Director of Human Resources, you will oversee core HR operations spanning payroll, employee relations, recruiting, and compliance.

This position offers USD 65,000 - 70,000 per year and centers on managing recruiting and onboarding workflows while ensuring HR processes are executed accurately and consistently for facility employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment needs, including hiring, onboarding, and orientation for new employees.
• Conduct background checks for all employees.
• Oversee and complete bi-weekly payroll.
• Assist with reconciliation of benefits.
• Provide HR support to facility employees.

Required Qualifications

• Previous HR experience in a Nursing Home or Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Experience working with unions (SEIU).
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and OSHA.
• Experience with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and benefits administration.
