Job Description

Union Gospel Mission of the Inland Northwest is hiring a Full-Cycle Recruiter to help build teams that serve people in the Spokane community. What you’ll do

As the Full-Cycle Recruiter, you will manage recruiting end-to-end, partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and move candidates through a smooth, timely hiring experience. The role also includes aligning candidates’ professional qualifications with Union Gospel Mission’s Statement of Faith, values, and Christian faith.

  • Source candidates through multiple channels, including Indeed, LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and employee referrals.
  • Review resumes and conduct initial phone screens to assess qualifications when needed, along with cultural fit and spiritual alignment.
  • Conduct initial interviews and coordinate next steps with hiring managers.
  • Manage the recruitment process efficiently to support timely hiring and a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with developing and implementing recruitment strategies that support staffing needs.
  • Strengthen the employer brand through proactive market research, networking, and candidate engagement.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Build collaborative relationships with hiring managers to understand both departmental and spiritual staffing needs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with candidates throughout the process and communicate effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and HR team members.
  • Coordinate reference checks when applicable.
  • Coordinate the offer process in partnership with the HR Director.
  • Coordinate employment background screening based on position, ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Coordinate with Intermax for email and drive setup, work with the facilities team for keys and office or phone setup, and coordinate with the hiring manager to finalize onboarding details.
  • Order business cards and create name plates for the door when required by position.
  • Facilitate a seamless, welcoming, Christ-centered onboarding experience for new hires, including New Hire Orientations.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Grounded and committed Christian, able and willing to model servant-leadership and participate in a ministry to the poor, homeless, drug addicted, and mentally ill.
  • Active member of the body of Christ, aligned with Union Gospel Mission’s Statement of Purpose, Statement of Vision, and Statement of Faith.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with compassion and discernment while modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
  • Ability and willingness to honor leadership, chain of command, standards, and ministry objectives.
  • Computer literate, able to complete HR documents and accurately record information using tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, Web Browser, Office 365, and UKG Ready HR; willing to continue education as needed or required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assess both professional capability and spiritual maturity.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously.
  • Teachable spirit, ability to manage multiple tasks, listen well, and make sound HR-related decisions aligned with UGM’s purpose.
  • Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, with appropriate boundaries and a strong work ethic.
  • Employee relations, compensation, and benefits experience is preferred.
  • Nonprofit, ministry, or other mission-driven recruiting experience is preferred.
  • Be able and willing to share the Gospel and participate in ministry activities of Union Gospel Mission.
  • Subscribe to the Statement of Faith and Qualifications for Employment upon hire and continuously while employed.
  • Adhere to the Union Gospel Mission Employee Handbook, including a confidentiality statement requirement.
  • Wage offered will be dependent upon experience and education.

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a full-cycle recruiter (nonprofit, ministry, or faith-based recruiting experience is highly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Compensation and tools

$18 to $26 per hour, depending on experience and education. You’ll use technologies including Indeed, LinkedIn, job boards, social media, Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, UKG Ready HR, UKG, Intermax, and projector and AV equipment.

Working conditions

Equipment and HRIS

Computer tools include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, web browser, and UKG Ready HR. The role prefers experience with a robust HRIS system, ideally UKG, and includes coordination using Intermax.
