Job Description

The Human Resources Director at Etowah Landing Care & Rehabilitation Center leads the on-site HR function in Rome, GA, directing recruitment, employee relations, staff development, compliance, and benefits administration to support the facility’s mission and foster a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment and staffing, from creating and posting job requisitions, through applicant screening and interviewing, to onboarding new hires and delivering orientation programs.
  • Supervise employee relations, addressing conflicts, guiding disciplinary actions when necessary, and administering formal grievance procedures in alignment with policy and compliance standards.
  • Partner with department leaders to assess staffing requirements and shape effective workforce planning initiatives aligned with service goals.
  • Administer benefits programs while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential HR records and personnel data in accordance with privacy standards and organizational policy.
  • Keep current with labor laws and regulatory changes, translating updates into practical policy and practice across the HR function.
  • Promote a constructive workplace by sustaining open channels of communication, implementing recognition programs, and driving ongoing employee engagement initiatives to support retention and morale.

Requirements

  • Preferred: proven experience as an HR manager or director within a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, applicable labor laws, and regulatory requirements relevant to healthcare operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and effective people-management skills to guide teams and influence organizational outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion in line with privacy standards and policy.
