Job Description

Metalcraft of Mayville is hiring an onsite Human Resource Generalist to support the Fall River, Wisconsin location, with an initial training period in Mayville. The role reports to the Director of Human Resources and covers a broad range of HR functions, including HRIS maintenance, employee relations, recruitment, payroll, investigations, benefits administration and compliance. This is an onsite position with a transition from Mayville to Fall River as training completes.

In this role you will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and Supervisors, deliver responsive employee support, and help foster a constructive culture while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance for the local team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Supervisors to align HR support with production goals.
  • Address employee questions with timely, high quality support.
  • Share payroll processing responsibilities for local staff, including reporting and use of ADP and Kronos.
  • Investigate employee matters and apply appropriate disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Lead full cycle recruitment: post roles, interview, screen resumes and applications, conduct background and employment checks, and extend offers.
  • Draft and update job descriptions for all plant personnel.
  • Conduct new hire orientation sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies and practices.
  • Manage benefits enrollment and respond to benefits questions; coordinate annual open enrollment for all employees.
  • Coordinate all aspects of discipline and terminations, including unemployment claim paperwork.
  • Lead special projects for compliance, audits and AS9100 documentation.
  • Suggest improvements and collaborate with the team on HR and employee relations enhancements.
  • Develop understanding of company culture and advocate for it daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least four years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with payroll, recruiting, and handling employee discipline and investigations is required.
  • Strong written and spoken communication with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities in the best interest of the organization.
