Human Resource Generalist
Job Description
Haversack Logistics is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations at its Davidson, NC location. This full-time role is onsite and combines core people functions with administrative and office support, helping ensure hiring, compliance, and employee programs run smoothly.
The ideal candidate will handle a wide range of HR responsibilities, from recruiting coordination and background checks to administering compensation, benefits, leave, and maintaining employment law compliance. The position also includes maintaining training documentation, supporting employee inquiries, and assisting with office operations as needed.
Role Overview
- Run daily functions of the HR department, including hiring and interviewing support.
- Administer pay, benefits, and leave administration while enforcing company policies.
- Contribute to office management duties alongside HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, track, and document compliance for mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.
- Recruit and coordinate interviews for open roles, working with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for each opening.
- Conduct or obtain background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Support new hire orientation and employee recognition program activities.
- Complete routine HR program tasks across areas such as compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity and recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive items to the appropriate team members.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review internal policies and practices to support ongoing compliance.
- Stay current on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies related to human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform or facilitate maintenance of office equipment, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
- Provide clerical support when needed, including answering phones, sorting and distributing mail, and preparing documents.
- Maintain office supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain office files and implement an organized filing system for other staff to access records efficiently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, with experience able to replace education.
