Job Description

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced HR Analyst to manage the full lifecycle of candidate recruitment and onboarding, while ensuring precise personnel records and data reporting. This onsite role in Sanford, FL offers an hourly salary of $24 to $30 and relies on NEOGOV and Tyler-Munis for data management and reporting. The position also involves evaluating HR policies and procedures to support ongoing improvements within the division.

Responsibilities

  • Post job vacancies for internal and external audiences and manage the recruitment pipeline.
  • Guide applicants through every stage of the hiring process to deliver a positive candidate experience from application to hire.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on candidates and applications, including EEO, applicant, and hiring statistics.
  • Assemble comprehensive background investigations by consolidating information from multiple sources.
  • Coordinate pre-employment testing, including scheduling drug tests, physicals, and psychological exams; may include computerized voice stress analysis testing.
  • Continuously evaluate processes to ensure the most qualified applicants are advanced in hiring decisions.
  • Administer and maintain the Applicant Tracking System and HRIS daily, ensuring data integrity and accurate records.
  • Maintain records with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, including separations, higher education, military leave, concurrent, and new hire forms.
  • Conduct applicant file reviews as required and manage retrieval, purging, and storage of division records.
  • Manage personnel files, ensuring all pre-employment documentation, background checks, and new hire records are complete and compliant.
  • Oversee volunteer and internship programs, including background processing, onboarding/offboarding, and record maintenance.
  • Maintain CIRVV and FALCON fingerprint databases and assist with fingerprinting as needed.
  • Prepare offers, onboarding documents, and related paperwork for new hires.
  • Assist with document retrieval or data entry for audits and participate in Civil Service Board functions as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison for the agency or division when required and participate in recruitment events.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing Human Resources.
  • Provide backup support to the Senior Human Resources Analyst and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A NOTARIZED Background Investigation Waiver is required; failure to submit will disqualify the application. The waiver must be notarized and submitted with the pre-screen application.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and modern office practices; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve accurate, timely results; maintain detailed records and effective filing systems; communicate effectively with departments, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Mobility: Mostly sedentary with some standing and walking; constant use of a computer.
  • Visual: Constant overall vision; steady eye-hand coordination; frequent reading and close-up work.
  • Dexterity: Frequent repetitive motions and reaching.
  • Emotional/Psychological: Frequent public contact; strong decision-making and concentration skills.
  • Special Requirements: Maintain a professional demeanor and integrity off duty; may respond to critical incidents; some assignments may require weekends, nights, and occasional overtime.
