Human Resources Assistant
Job Description
The Human Resources Assistant role provides advanced HR administrative and operational support for the district, with emphasis on Labor Relations, Benefits, and HRIS.
Responsibilities
- Support investigations and employee relations processes
- Manage and track the district’s employee evaluation system
- Coordinate critical HR activities to support day-to-day operations
- Prepare and analyze documentation for HR needs
- Support departmental compliance and reporting requirements
- Provide advanced administrative and operational support across the Human Resources Department, with primary focus on Labor Relations, Benefits, and HRIS
- Handle specialized, confidential assignments requiring discretion, independent judgment, and the ability to manage complex workflows
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or four (4) years of directly related administrative experience in human resources, benefits administration, or a closely related field, including handling confidential information and managing complex workflows
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Proficiency with personal computers and software, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant applications used for documentation, reporting, and communication
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and strict adherence to confidentiality

Compensation and Schedule
- Salary: USD 65,806 - 90,930 per yearly
- Starting hourly rate: Grade 5: $65,806.83 - $90,930.74 DOE
- Work day: 8 hours per day
- Work year: 12 months
- Location: Fairbanks, AK (onsite)
- Bargaining unit: Non-Represented
