Job Description

HBK CPA is seeking a dynamic People Partner to support its Midwest offices and national HR initiatives. This onsite role is based in Warrendale, PA and requires 3-4 days in the office each week, with travel to Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The position covers onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a smooth new hire experience.
  • Facilitate integration and retention strategies for new employees.
  • Partner with leadership and resource management to identify hiring needs.
  • Assist the Campus Recruiting Lead with local campus events as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR matters.
  • Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and PIPs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Conduct investigations and manage employee separations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS (Workday experience preferred) and generate reports.
  • Support inclusion and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to identify training needs.
  • Promote firm-wide programs and events in partnership with other offices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional HR functions including recruiting, total rewards, resource management and learning and development.
  • Provide insights from HR data to inform business decisions.
  • Support organizational change and workforce planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a professional services or accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HCM systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
