Job Description

Onsite human resources coordinator role in Romulus, MI supporting payroll, policy compliance, and multi-function HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing and assist with departmental training activities.
  • Support recruitment across all levels.
  • Plan and coordinate new employee orientation sessions.
  • Conduct exit interviews for terminating employees where applicable.
  • Compile and report turnover statistics.
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor, and support the delivery of training programs.
  • Interpret and communicate corporate discipline policies to management personnel.
  • Advise employees, group leaders, and management on training options, procedures, and benefits coverage.
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date, confidential employee files.
  • Maintain current organizational charts in line with established procedures.
  • Ensure enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
  • Interface with agencies such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, EEOC, and others as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updating and calculation of Time and Attendance records.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s quality system within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to Human Resources functions.
  • Foster a workplace atmosphere that supports an open door policy to enhance employee communication and satisfaction.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Over two years of experience in human resources, including exposure to recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • HR experience of 1 year preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • Primarily operates in an office and manufacturing setting with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers).
  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts in the manufacturing area; typical noise level is moderate.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly communicates and listens; frequently stands, walks, and handles objects;
  • Work requires typing, reaching, and using hands and fingers to manipulate small items.

Position Type / Hours of Work

Full-time. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Travel

Up to 10% travel, primarily local during the business day; occasional out-of-town and overnight travel may be required.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

  • Must possess valid documentation authorizing employment in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
