MacDonald & Owen Lumber Company invites you to join as a Human Resources Coordinator in West Salem, WI. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and sort HR emails to ensure accurate and timely communication with employees
  • Answer and direct phone calls, and relay important information promptly and clearly
  • Serve as Learning Management System Administrator and schedule training as requested
  • Assist with employee leave and attendance records
  • Support new hire onboarding
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment as needed
  • Maintain safety, workers compensation, and OSHA record-keeping
  • Act as a liaison in the Workers Compensation process
  • Maintain and audit employee database and personnel files
  • Process legal documents such as garnishments, child support, and unemployment
  • Process employment life cycle changes such as job and compensation changes
  • Create and submit online job postings
  • Completion of special projects and reports as requested
  • Promote company culture and employee engagement
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all situations

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Human Resources experience
  • 1+ years of administrative experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
  • Associates degree or higher in HR, Business Management, or related field
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
  • Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to work under pressure to meet multiple tasks with strict deadlines
  • A valid driver’s license
