Job Description

This onsite, full-time HR Coordinator role supports HR operations across Medic Ambulance Service locations in Northern California.

Responsibilities

  • Manages health and welfare benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and deductions.
  • Provides employee support by responding to inquiries and requests.
  • Completes Form I-9s, verifies documentation, and maintains I-9 records.
  • Submits online background check and investigation requests and supports new-hire screening.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Audits payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommends corrective actions.
  • Supports processing of terminations.
  • Assists in preparing, collecting, and filing employee performance reviews.
  • Supports recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding, including HRIS setup.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as needed for essential duties, including investigative sessions.
  • Files documents into digital folders and employee files.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Posts, updates, and refreshes job postings across internal and external boards and programs.
  • Responds to requests for additional information on postings, benefits, or general inquiries.
  • Handles employment verification or background-check requests from external agencies.
  • Liaises with payroll, scheduling, and other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience prioritizing and multitasking.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas including HIPAA compliance.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Additional Information

  • Supervisory responsibilities over a team of staff spread across various regions of Northern California.
  • Infrequent travel in a company vehicle may be required; possession of a valid driver’s license is strongly desired.
  • Candidate must be insurable through our insurance provider.

Pay

  • $75,000 - $105,000 per year
