Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator supports Wisconsin Health Fund's HR function in Milwaukee with payroll and 401(k) administration, while assisting with recruiting, training, and employee records under the HR Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processes end-to-end and oversee 401(k) administration with solid knowledge of both areas
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as composing job postings, drafting internal correspondence, and scheduling meetings
  • Support the recruiting process by gathering resumes, verifying references, and coordinating interviews
  • Assist with organization-wide training initiatives
  • Keep payroll records up to date, conduct ongoing reviews, and propose improvements
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare payroll data for special projects and reporting as needed
  • Maintain personnel files, including workers' compensation, in compliance with Wisconsin law
  • Assist the HR Manager with special projects
  • Maintain current position descriptions
  • Conduct new employee orientations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations in the HR Manager's absence
  • Coordinate employee events such as service awards and holiday parties
  • Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures per the employee handbook
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in HR or a related field is required
  • Strong knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
