Human Resources Coordinator
Job Description
GLCD Corporation seeks an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to oversee personnel operations across Florida and California. This part-time, on-site role focuses on regulatory compliance, employee relations, and executing HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. The position is based in Hialeah, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Manage talent processes including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding
- Oversee performance management, disciplinary actions, and documentation
- Coordinate payroll activities to ensure accurate payments and wage compliance
- Administer employee benefits programs and leave administration
- Ensure compliance with California Labor Code provisions such as wage deductions, equal pay, AB 688, retaliation protections, vacation accrual, and late payment penalties
- Ensure compliance with Florida Labor Laws including minimum wage, new hire reporting, 10-hour day rules, and at-will employment considerations
- Apply knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, and EEOC requirements
- Address California-specific needs such as meal/rest breaks, workers’ compensation under Labor Code §3700, prevailing wage, and retaliation protections under §§ 98.6, 230, 230.1
- Address Florida-specific rules including Chapter 448 terms of employment, wage discrimination, and employment eligibility
- Conduct internal HR audits and respond to claims or audits from agencies such as the DLSE, Florida DMS, or EEOC
- Lead investigations into employee complaints, including retaliation, harassment, or wage violations
- Provide guidance to management on HR policy interpretation and compliance matters
- Collaborate with payroll and legal teams to ensure correct wage payments and address violations related to late payments (CA Labor Code §204 and AB 673)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of HR generalist or HR management experience
- Direct experience with California labor law compliance is required
- Familiarity with Florida labor and HR practices
- Knowledge of federal HR and employment regulations
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred
