Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Generational Care is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on, end-to-end HR support onsite in Richland, WA.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an HR point of contact for employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, benefits, employment practices, and general HR questions
- Handle employee relations needs including investigations, corrective actions, workplace concerns, documentation, follow-up, and policy guidance
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding activities including candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, background checks, driving-record reviews, employment verification, and I-9 requirements
- Coordinate and track leaves and accommodations, including FMLA, Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave, disability-related accommodations, and other applicable leave programs
- Manage workers’ compensation and related workflows including claims coordination, return-to-work processes, workplace incident follow-up, safety initiatives, and unemployment claims
- Support benefits and compensation administration including enrollment, eligibility, qualifying life events, Open Enrollment, audits, and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; troubleshoot system and workflow issues and assist with testing, upgrades, and implementations
- Prepare and analyze HR reports and data to identify trends, compliance concerns, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain HR procedures, workflows, forms, checklists, instructions, and training resources
- Own assigned projects from research and planning through implementation and follow-through
- Proactively identify issues, research solutions, and support HR audits, compliance projects, technology implementations, and other organizational initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent HR education and experience)
- Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience
- Working knowledge across multiple HR disciplines, potentially including recruitment and selection, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, unemployment, safety, HR compliance, compensation, payroll, and HR systems
- Experience working with HRIS or other employee information systems
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, processes, or HR responsibilities
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills
- Strong critical thinking, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate appropriately
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- High accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong working knowledge of Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other recognized HR certification
- Experience working in healthcare, human services, nonprofit, or another highly regulated environment
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
- Experience with HR reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and system implementation
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, not required)

Pay Range
$28.00 - $34.50 per hour (DOE/DOQ)
