Human Resources Generalist II (Employee Relations)

Job Description

Support day-to-day Human Resources needs for District staff while handling employee relations matters from performance support to impartial investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day Human Resources functions, providing broad support to District staff while aligning work to District values, strategic priorities, and objectives
  • Provide simple to moderate analytical and consulting support across multiple HR functions
  • Resolve simple to moderate HR issues; escalate complex matters
  • Lead and act as a consultant for various HR projects
  • Serve as a primary contact for employees, responding to inquiries related to HR programs and directives
  • Oversee performance management
  • Facilitate conflict resolution
  • Partner with managers to address employee concerns and help foster a positive work environment
  • Conduct comprehensive, impartial investigations into matters such as harassment and discrimination, in collaboration with internal counsel, and provide expert guidance to business leaders
  • Provide actionable recommendations on employee issues and interpret and administer District policies
  • Maintain clear communication and strict confidentiality while navigating complex situations
  • Build positive relationships across the organization
  • Support program development, implementation, and maintenance for one or more functional areas (with flexibility to support any area as needed):

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or related field, and two (2) years of related Human Resources experience
  • OR Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or related field, and four (4) years of related Human Resources experience
  • OR six (6) years of related Human Resources experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, adaptability, and superior written communication
  • Solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to handle challenging situations, build trust across all levels of the organization, and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence
  • Ability to communicate clearly, maintain strict confidentiality, and effectively navigate complex situations
