About the role

The Human Resources Manager acts as the primary point of contact for employees and management, delivering hands-on HR leadership that aligns people practices with business objectives. This role blends practical, day-to-day HR execution with strategic guidance to support growth, and it is based onsite in Middlefield, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead talent acquisition and recruitment efforts
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Ensure policies comply with local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and apply policies fairly
  • Develop new policies, revise existing ones, and manage policy compliance
  • Manage payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and lead the annual benefits review and negotiation process
  • Oversee onboarding and identify organization-wide training and development needs
  • Handle sensitive HR data with integrity and confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR management experience, including employee benefits administration
  • Certifications: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Skills: Proficiency in HRIS systems (Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite; exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
