Human Resources Manager
Job Description
Press-Seal Corporation invites a Human Resources Manager to lead the HR strategy for our Jasper, Indiana facility as part of a relaunch of a multi-plant manufacturing organization. This onsite role partners with executive and plant leadership on workforce planning, talent development, employee relations, compliance, and culture, delivering strategic direction and hands-on HR leadership aligned with Press-Seal's values and operational needs. This position offers the opportunity to shape a high-performance, accountable culture across locations while staying closely connected to manufacturing operations on site.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior and plant leaders to design and implement HR and talent strategies aligned with business objectives
- Foster a uniform, high-performance, high-accountability culture across all locations
- Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Stay current on HR trends, employment law, and best practices
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for managerial, exempt, and professional roles
- Work with leaders to define role requirements and assess talent needs
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to support engagement and retention
- Develop and implement learning and development initiatives for employees at all levels
- Coach leaders on performance management, feedback, and employee development
- Advise on complex and sensitive employee relations matters
- Oversee discipline, investigations, accommodations, and terminations in line with policy and law
- Support leaders with performance issues and corrective actions
- Handle unemployment claims and respond to EEOC and NLRB matters
- Lead recognition and engagement initiatives
- Analyze compensation and benefits data; recommend competitive pay and incentive programs
- Administer benefit plans and ensure compliance with applicable laws, including FMLA
- Monitor and report key HR metrics such as turnover, headcount, and compliance
- Oversee HR budgets, maintain HRIS data integrity, and process employee transactions
- Support labor relations strategy as applicable
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Develop and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
- Ensure OSHA compliance, participate in safety initiatives, and manage Workers’ Compensation claims
- Support audits, investigations, and compliance reporting
- Oversee the daily workflow and priorities of the HR department
- Provide HR support across all departments as needed
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence to support manufacturing operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage competing demands
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to influence and coach employees and leaders at all levels
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/talent management systems
- Ability to support multiple locations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
