Human Resources Manager

Custom Wood Products is seeking a people-focused, detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to support day-to-day HR operations at their onsite location in Saint Marys, KS. The role combines strategic HR execution with operational follow-through, covering recruiting, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance. You will also help reinforce a safe, engaging, and inclusive work environment while partnering with leaders on employee relations and performance.

In this position, you will manage key HR programs and ensure accurate systems administration using HRIS. The Human Resources Manager will also oversee critical processes tied to leaves, workers comp, and regulatory obligations, including required reporting and policy maintenance.

What you’ll do

• Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding to bring talent into the organization
• Maintain HRIS systems and manage employee records
• Administer benefits, leaves, workers comp, and compliance programs
• Support a safe, engaging, and inclusive work environment
• Partner with leaders to strengthen employee relations and support performance
• Manage important programs including 401(k), OSHA reporting, policy updates, and related HR activities

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HR experience (preferably in manufacturing or operations)
• Experience across compliance, benefits, recruiting, and employee relations
• Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, FLSA, and other HR laws
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategy and day-to-day HR priorities
• Bonus: HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)

Compensation and benefits

Salary: USD 65,000 - 90,000 per year.
