Human Resources Manager
Job Description
Lead HR operations for recruitment, employee lifecycle support, benefits administration, and HR compliance onsite in New Bedford, MA.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day recruitment activities: create and post openings, review candidates, coordinate and conduct interviews, and communicate with applicants.
- Coordinate reference checks, background checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Partner with supervisors to support staffing needs and maintain an effective hiring process.
- Coordinate onboarding from offer through the employee’s first day, ensuring required steps are completed.
- Ensure employment paperwork, background checks, and onboarding documentation are completed and properly recorded.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Prepare and process employee documentation, including offer letters, employee changes, corrective actions, and separation documents.
- Serve as an HR resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and general workplace questions.
- Support employee relations: address workplace concerns, support conflict resolution, and assist with attendance, performance, and corrective action matters.
- Partner with leadership to handle employee matters consistently, professionally, and in line with company policies.
- Support performance management, including employee evaluations, performance concerns, corrective actions, and related documentation.
- Provide supervisors guidance on employee performance and policy expectations, and help maintain consistent performance management practices across the organization.
- Lead and manage employee benefits administration, including annual renewals, plan evaluation and negotiation, and vendor/broker relationships.
- Manage open enrollment, employee enrollments, benefit changes, and qualifying life events.
- Respond to employee questions about health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Maintain accurate benefit records and assist employees with benefit-related issue resolution.
- Maintain knowledge of company timekeeping policies, including overtime, breaks, paid time off, and time-off accruals.
- Review timekeeping information for accuracy and support time and attendance questions from supervisors and employees.
- Support payroll processing by ensuring employee changes and applicable payroll information are accurately documented.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Assist with the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare employee communications, announcements, reports, and other HR-related documentation.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives aligned with organizational and employee needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred); equivalent HR experience may be considered.
- 4 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with employees and leadership.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and ability to learn and effectively use HRIS and timekeeping systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Compensation: USD 80,000 - 90,000 per yearly
