Job Description

PMC seeks a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to oversee recruitment, onboarding, payroll processing, employee relations, and a broad range of HR activities at a skilled nursing facility onsite in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

  • Review timecards daily to identify missing punches and correctly allocate hours to the appropriate department and job.
  • Submit employee hours for payroll processing.
  • Create and post recruitment advertisements to attract candidates.
  • Lead orientation programs for new hires and coordinate ongoing in-service training sessions.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to determine staffing needs and drive recruitment efforts.
  • Monitor the budgeted FTEs by position.
  • Explain personnel policies, the employee handbook, and resident rights to staff members.
  • Maintain and file required federal and state employee records and forms at onboarding, during employment, and at termination.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment processes.
  • Stay informed about applicable employment laws, regulations, and policy updates.
  • Post mandatory notices such as OSHA, EEOC, and minimum wage posters.
  • Attend hearings related to unemployment claims and EEOC charges.
  • Maintain historical, current, and future employee records and filing systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for orientation, training, and counseling as needed.
  • Facilitate employee relations between corporate offices and facility staff.
  • Perform additional HR duties to ensure HR procedures run smoothly at all times.
  • Collaborate with another HR professional to share responsibilities and support team goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in human resources is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Accountable, responsible, and dependable.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and organized demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with UKG Pro and Kronos is a plus.
