Job Description
The HR Manager for Corporate Human Resources supports the Store Support Center by partnering with leaders to drive HR strategy, development, and organizational effectiveness, with focus on engagement, retention, performance, and succession.
Responsibilities
- Assess business dynamics and function needs to implement HR practices and processes that foster an effective, high performing organization.
- Collaborate with leaders to coach on all HR areas including associate engagement, retention, team relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, development, training, and compliance.
- Partner with HR Solutions Teams to tailor and deploy practices and initiatives that meet the organization's specific needs.
- Provide management information, data analysis, metrics, and tools to demonstrate progress toward key milestones.
- Identify process improvements and new approaches to programs, policies, and procedures that contribute to business success.
- Support the Directors of Corporate HR in developing and executing department goals and objectives.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state employment laws and ensure compliance within assigned groups.
- Conduct exit and stay interviews and translate findings into actionable recommendations for client groups.
- Collaborate with client groups to ensure the performance management process is implemented consistently and effectively.
- Design teambuilding and training sessions, in partnership with the Learning and Development team, to support communication, conflict resolution, and competency development for client groups.
- Represent HR and client groups on cross functional teams for projects, new programs, or processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Based at the Chesapeake, VA Corporate Office, full-time (40+ hours per week).
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Five years of progressive HR experience is required, with retail environment experience preferred.
- Effective presentation, written and verbal communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and influencing capabilities.
- Ability to analyze data, trends, reporting, and technology.
- Versatility and flexibility with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based programs; experience with Workday is a plus.
