USD 64,400 - 96,600 per year
Experience
Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to sourcing and interviewing. Strong organizational and time-management skills are required, along with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Responsibilities
- Independently design and implement effective recruiting strategies to meet hiring demands.
- Proactively source and identify both passive and active candidates through networking and current recruiting technologies, with emphasis on relationship building.
- Manage the end-to-end hiring process from requisition posting through interviews to offer recommendations.
- Guide CarMax hiring managers through the interview and hiring process to ensure fair and consistent candidate selection.
- Serve as the primary contact for candidates to deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
- Build a consultative relationship with hiring managers to ensure clear communication and alignment on hiring needs.
- Maintain accurate candidate workflows within CarMax’s applicant tracking system.
- Participate in recruiting events such as job fairs, college outreach, and community engagement to strengthen CarMax’s employer brand as needed.
- Champion change and process improvements across the Talent Acquisition team and the hiring process in assigned business areas.
- Utilize recruiting and market data to inform decisions and actions.
- Independently identify resources to self-educate in recruitment practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience, including 1 year of sourcing and interviewing, with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills across messaging, phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and hiring needs.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and experience guiding candidates through structured workflows.
- Expertise in sourcing and engaging passive candidates via multiple channels.
- Some roles may require the ability to work across different time zones.
Benefits
- Up to 48 hours of sick time per year, accrued per pay period, plus 80 to 200 hours of vacation per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on continuous service.
- 8 hours of pay for each of six paid holidays per year, plus one floating holiday; holiday work may qualify for Holiday Premium Pay when required by business needs.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holidays, and more, subject to manager approval.
