Job Description
The Temp Recruiter role provides temporary support to SouthernCarlson’s Talent Acquisition team during a period of increased hiring activity. The position focuses on screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and maintaining a consistent, professional candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
Key Responsibilities
- Review incoming applications and resumes to identify candidates who meet minimum and preferred qualifications.
- Assess candidate experience, skills, and alignment with job requirements.
- Manage timely applicant dispositioning within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Communicate with candidates regarding application status and next steps.
- Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to evaluate relevant experience and qualifications.
- Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess communication skills.
- Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess compensation expectations.
- Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to assess availability and work authorization.
- Conduct phone and virtual prescreen interviews to evaluate overall fit for the role and organization.
- Document interview notes and provide recommendations to hiring teams.
- Use standardized interview guides and evaluation criteria.
- Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Coordinate calendars and interview logistics, including sending confirmations and preparation materials to candidates.
- Manage candidate communications throughout the interview process and serve as a primary point of contact.
- Track interview feedback and follow up with hiring managers as needed to support next steps.
- Keep candidates engaged and informed while awaiting feedback or hiring decisions.
- Support recruitment branding through positive candidate interactions.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and activity within the ATS.
- Generate candidate pipelines for recruiters and hiring managers.
- Support recruitment projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with job postings, sourcing activities, and talent pipeline development as needed.
- Monitor recruiting metrics and support reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, staffing, or customer-facing professional experience.
- Experience conducting phone screens, interviews, or candidate assessments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Applicant Tracking Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting in industrial, construction, distribution, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Experience using Dayforce, Workday, or similar ATS platforms.
- High-volume recruiting experience.
- Experience coordinating interviews across multiple locations.
