Recruiting Consultant
Job Description
In this onsite role in Houston, Texas, you will lead and coordinate recruiting efforts for management level roles and partner with sales leadership to hire qualified 1099 contract candidates. You will also support training for Colonial Life sales managers on the recruiting and contracting process across defined geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain a candidate pipeline for all Colonial Life 1099 roles, with a focus on sales management positions, by personally sourcing for local teams.
- Follow up on candidate leads within your pipeline to support consistent progression through the selection process.
- Provide lead management and training support for growth-focused District Manager (DGA) and Agency Development Manager (ADM) roles within assigned territories.
- Ensure an opportunity to contract process is established and maintained for territories and districts in assigned geographies.
- Assist managers with interview and selection activities as needed, emphasizing training and development.
- Implement and execute a territory recruiting strategy using available tools such as nominator calls, personal referrals, job boards, networking events, and career fairs, while serving as an example for others.
- Conduct and support career attraction events, including sharing best practices and recruiting event planning processes and guidelines.
- Execute the national recruiting strategy for recruiting managers in partnership with Territory Sales Managers to source and attract quality leaders for District General Agency (DGA) and Agency Development Manager (ADM) roles.
- Drive high-volume candidate outreach using a diverse sourcing approach, including personal sourcing and networking.
- Perform joint field work to ensure district teams understand and can apply available tools, resources, and recruiting processes.
- Conduct phone screenings and initial interviews.
- Support candidates with licensing and contracting as needed.
- Facilitate recruiting training sessions with growth-focused managers, including Colonial Life College curriculum, and participate in joint recruiting activities such as interviews, appointment setting, and nominator calls.
- Partner with National Recruiting to coordinate additional training and support for 1099 managers in the territories you support.
- Assist business partners with the broker contract process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Recruiting and/or sales experience.
- Strong presentation skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge and comfort using computer websites, tracking spreadsheets, Applicant Tracking Systems, and online contracting software.
- Insurance industry experience and experience sourcing 1099/contractors are preferred.
- Belief in the 1099 opportunity and the ability to attract leadership candidates both from inside and outside the insurance industry.
- Self-starter who can work with minimal direction, with exceptional time management skills.
- Experience in training and coaching with hiring managers or 1099 partners in both classroom and field settings with candidates.
- Self-motivated, highly energetic, and team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
- Travel requirements up to 40%.
- Maintain a positive corporate image and professionalism while representing Colonial Life in both the home office and field environments.
