University Recruiter

Whirlpool is hiring a University Recruiter to support Global Human Resources in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In this onsite role, you will help source and select talent for Leadership Development Programs while strengthening recruiting strategies through digital approaches and campus partnerships.

The position sits at the intersection of strategic recruiting, employer branding, and process improvement. You will work with universities, student organizations, and internal stakeholders to build diverse talent pipelines across the U.S., and you will represent Whirlpool to candidates through on-campus and digital engagements.

Responsibilities

• Advise and develop strategic recruiting and branding plans across the U.S. for Whirlpool’s Leadership Development Programs, leveraging on-campus opportunities, digital platforms, and diversity conferences
• Evolve and expand digital recruitment strategies to broaden talent pipelines
• Partner with universities, colleges, diversity student organizations, and digital platform vendors to develop plans that build diverse talent pipelines
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Talent Acquisition Center of Expertise, regional University Recruiting counterparts, Leadership Development Program Managers, and Communications and Inclusion and Diversity on recruiting plan development
• Drive and support projects that continuously improve and standardize the recruiting process
• Work with vendor partners to support flawless execution of recruiting activities
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide training and education to Program Representatives on executing effective talent strategies
• Conduct assessments, resume screening, behavioral interviews, and talent debrief sessions that inform hiring decisions
• Maintain accurate candidate records in the Whirlpool applicant tracking system and assist with dashboards for HR leaders and Program Managers
• Develop and conduct on-campus and digital presentations, communicating Whirlpool’s employer value proposition to prospective candidates
• Identify and lead initiatives to strengthen Whirlpool’s reputation as an employer of choice and a best-in-class recruiting organization
• Travel up to 10% for recruiting events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1+ years of experience in Recruiting, University Relations, Talent Acquisition, or experience in Higher Ed or Student Affairs (including career services, student activities, residence life, advising, or high impact practices)

Preferred skills and experiences

• Knowledge of university recruiting and digital recruiting strategies
• Higher Ed experience related to student engagement and development
• Ability to influence as a thought leader
• Strength in relationship and stakeholder management
• Event planning and execution experience
• Experience using vendor partnerships to execute recruiting strategy
• Experience working with internal and external partners across different levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
