Director of Human Resources (HR)

Salary: USD 60,000 - 70,000 per year. This on-site role is based in Carthage, NY and centers on directing HR duties such as payroll liaison, benefits coordination, recruitment, compliance, and staff supervision within a 90-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop precise schedules for the nursing team to ensure coverage and efficiency.
• Serve as the payroll liaison to address timecard issues between the Payroll Department and the facility.
• Coordinate all employee benefits by acting as the liaison between the Payroll Department and the Benefits Administrator.
• Oversee front desk operations and personnel in all aspects.
• Ensure compliance with the Department of Labor and Department of Health for all new hires, including time-clock enrollment, background checks, reference checks, and license verification.
• Lead recruitment efforts by identifying open positions, screening applicants, and conducting interviews.
• Participate in facility management meetings as required.
• Support team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
• Administer HR duties such as disciplinary actions (in collaboration with department heads), payroll status changes, terminations, resignations, and retirements.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an HR or staffing setting.
• HR background or degree strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of human resource administration.
• Inter-personal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
• Excellent communication skills.
