Director of People Support
Job Description
Based onsite in Irving, Texas, the Director of People Support leads the hotel's human resources operations, including recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, and employee relations. The role partners with the General Manager and department leaders to foster a positive culture and serves on the hotel’s executive committee.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete hotel HR program, including interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and ongoing support for associates, ensuring performance aligns with brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
- Collaborate with HHM centralized HR teams to ensure benefits, compensation, leave of training, and employee relations programs are clearly communicated and administered at the property level.
- Drive an effective talent acquisition strategy across the property, managing the full recruitment cycle from job postings and proactive sourcing to interviewing and enabling hotel managers to select the best-qualified candidates.
- Oversee onboarding for new hires and separation of team members in accordance with established standards and applicable state, federal and local laws and regulations.
- Conduct employee relations activities to promote a positive culture, fairness, and impartial support for associate concerns. When harassment, discrimination, or similar issues arise, lead the internal investigation and review process.
- Develop and implement training programs to meet HHM and brand standards.
- Foster a positive, performance-driven culture across the property.
- Provide guidance to direct reports within the hotel HR function, potentially overseeing payroll-related administrative tasks.
- Adhere to HHM EarthView sustainability guidelines and practices.
- Maintain safe work practices, use required safety equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- 5-7+ years of HR experience, with a preference for hospitality industry background.
- HR certification and/or active involvement in the local hotel HR community preferred.
