Job Description

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics seeks an on-site Driver Recruiter in Lincoln Park, Michigan. This role recruits, screens, interviews, and contracts qualified applicants for Independent Contractor and Company Driver positions, collaborating with leadership to meet driver capacity through lead generation, recruiting plans, pre-qualification, and onboarding. The position also supports retention initiatives via RoadPerk programs and the 90-Day Retention Program.

Responsibilities

  • Market the organization to prospective independent contractors
  • Understand geography, customers, and capacity requirements
  • Maintain productive relationships with Area Directors and Service Center Management
  • Develop location-specific recruiting plans with Service Center Managers
  • Communicate Service Center recruiting and retention performance
  • Identify capacity needs and design effective recruiting campaigns
  • Pre-screen inbound leads to meet minimum hiring standards
  • Provide applicants with the most current company and area information
  • Inform current drivers and applicants about RoadPerk programs
  • Receive complete and accurate applications from qualified leads
  • Enter and maintain lead information in OSCER, e-driver, TenStreet or other tracking programs
  • Schedule candidate interviews with Service Center Managers
  • Schedule drug screens, physicals, and truck inspections
  • Schedule new driver orientation and training for all new drivers
  • Conduct new driver orientation where applicable
  • Assist with onboarding document completion when necessary
  • Support retention by conducting follow-up calls as needed
  • Process changes, updates, cancellations and transfers to current leases and truck insurance programs, including but not limited to Truck Insurance Program, Plate Program, and IFTA Program
  • Maintain knowledge of Owner Operator programs to provide training and answer questions
  • Maintain a sufficient supply of handouts for recruiting and retention use
  • Direct drivers to the appropriate party for Contractor health insurance and other programs
  • Present information at safety and operations meetings when requested
  • Develop a knowledge base of all customers
  • Understand customer volume fluctuations and potential growth and their impact on capacity requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bi-lingual/Spanish preferred
  • Approximately 2 years of relevant experience or education preferred
  • Knowledge of computer systems and the internet
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to make independent judgments
  • Some travel is possible
  • Ability to travel and deliver or place flyers, curb signs, and other materials in strategic locations as needed
