HR Coordinator
Job Description
A concise on-site HR Coordinator role at CUNY SoM supports recruitment, onboarding, HRIS data entry, record-keeping, events, and general HR administration for non-instructional part-time staff.
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment processes, appointments, reappointments, onboarding, and ensure timely processing of employment actions.
- Review HR paperwork for completeness and accuracy, resolving errors and inconsistencies as needed.
- Serve as a resource for college departments on personnel actions, policies, and procedures related to recruitment, appointment, and reappointment matters.
- Assist in promoting and planning HR programs, projects, activities, and initiatives.
- Help new hires with paperwork and ensure budget and Central Office receive accurately completed documentation for timely processing.
- Provide administrative support and ensure policies and procedures are followed in a fair, non-discriminatory manner.
- Collaborate with managers to review and classify job descriptions and job vacancy announcements (JVNs).
- Develop and maintain confidential electronic and paper record-keeping systems for staff and faculty records.
- Assist with maintaining employee files and related information in HR hard copy and electronic systems.
- May supervise staff and act as a team lead for talent acquisition functions.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

Position Details
- Position: HR Coordinator, Office of Human Resources
- Location: New York, NY onsite at CUNY School of Medicine in Harlem
- Reports to: Executive Director of Human Resources
- Scope: Supports HR lifecycle for non-instructional part-time staff, including recruitment, onboarding, HRIS entry, record-keeping, events, and general HR administrative needs
- Supervision: May supervise staff and act as team lead for talent acquisition functions

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $48,647 - $59,444 per year
- Salary is commensurate with education and experience
- Health plans, retirement/pension benefits and savings plans, and tuition waivers for CUNY graduate study
- Generous paid time off
- Salary schedule increases: 3.5% adjustment anticipated effective 9/1/2026 per PSC-CUNY agreement
