Job Description
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an HR Talent Recruiter to collaborate with hiring managers and HR partners to design and implement recruitment strategies that support the dynamic needs of an academic medical center. This onsite role in Jackson focuses on attracting a diverse, highly qualified candidate pool and strengthening workforce planning across departments.
Responsibilities
- Works with HR business partners to plan and implement a forward-looking recruitment program.
- Collects and analyzes data on demographics and hiring activity to measure recruitment effectiveness.
- Provides guidance to HR partners and hiring managers on talent acquisition processes to attract and retain a well-qualified, diverse workforce.
- Establishes ongoing relationships with HR partners and managers to understand their recruitment needs.
- Coordinates and participates in job fairs and other recruitment events.
- Writes and reviews job advertisements across multiple mediums, with occasional overnight travel.
- Develops and distributes promotional recruitment materials such as pamphlets, flyers, and handouts.
- cultivates and maintains a network of contacts in academic, government, public, and private sectors to source qualified candidates.
- Imparts information to prospective applicants about openings, compensation, benefits, working conditions, advancement opportunities, application processes, and hiring procedures.
- Performs searches for qualified candidates using ATS, career sites, networking, online recruiting resources, recruiting firms, and referrals.
- Participates in centralized recruitment processes including posting, requisition/applicant tracking, testing, pool development, and issue resolution.
- Develops and presents training on behavioral interviewing to hiring managers to ensure compliance with applicable laws and institutional policies.
- Compiles data and prepares specialized reports while maintaining necessary records and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and one year of human resources experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of recruitment and selection principles and procedures, including applicant tracking systems, career sites and niche postings, intake sessions, sourcing candidates, and serving as a recruiting consultant to hiring managers.
- Familiarity with employment law and EEO/AAP guidelines, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for recruiting at events and delivering training to managers.
- Proficiency with personal computers and related software applications.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across the organization.
- Solid scheduling and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to identify staffing needs and cross-selling opportunities where applicable.
- Capability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
