Job Description

Castongia Tractor Rensselaer is seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator to help coordinate HR policies, ensure legal compliance, oversee recruiting and onboarding, process payroll, and drive employee engagement under the CEO. This onsite role in Rensselaer, Indiana offers the chance to contribute to a collaborative team while supporting a broad range of HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and ensure file integrity.
  • Lead recruiting and onboarding support, including providing interview guides to managers, coordinating interview schedules, processing paperwork, and ensuring new hires complete required documentation.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training during new employee orientation.
  • Support managers in implementing the organization's performance management processes and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Administer workers' compensation processes and oversee Safety and Health programs, including required training, injury prevention, and HR related legal requirements.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs and wellness activities.
  • Assist in developing employee policies and procedures and advise managers and staff on policy adherence.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement the strategic HR plan.
  • Oversee recruiting efforts, build relationships with local schools, train managers to conduct interviews, assist with candidate selection, and streamline processes.
  • Organize and report on employee performance information.
  • Process weekly payroll.
  • Accounting knowledge is helpful.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Experience with database software and HR information systems.
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information and comply with regulatory policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate degree in Human Resources is preferred.
  • SHRM certification or plan to pursue certification is preferred.

Attracts, recruits, and retains talent and effectively engages department personnel. Processes payroll weekly and files necessary reports.
