Job Description

HEXPOL is seeking an HR leader to support its strategic business objectives across the Akron and Barberton plants (onsite). In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and administer HR processes, policies, and procedures that help Associates have clear guidance, consistent support, and a positive workplace experience. Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process and coordinate new hire orientation for all Associates.
  • Field Associate inquiries and advise or mentor Management to resolve Associate-related issues to appropriate outcomes.
  • Counsel Associates on job-related matters, including policies, procedures, and disciplinary actions, up through terminations.
  • Provide final approval of bi-weekly payroll using HRIS and the AOD/ADP timekeeping systems.
  • Administer benefits programs, including conducting Open Enrollment meetings and supporting Associates.
  • Coordinate Associate Relations events and programs that promote morale, motivation, and stronger relationships.
  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager (or designee) on Workers’ Compensation and OSHA-related safety needs.
  • Prepare internal and external reports or data as requested by Management, and represent Human Resources for internal and external ISO audits.
  • Develop communications to keep Associates informed of relevant updates.
  • Participate in training opportunities to stay current on industry trends and employment legislation.
  • Supervise Human Resource department personnel, if applicable.
  • Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, Management. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • SPHR or PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification, preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of leadership experience in an HR position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to handle personal and confidential information.
  • Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer and systems skills, including MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and handle a broad range of responsibilities.
  • High concentration and attention to detail, along with high energy, self-motivation, and self-reliance.
  • Ability to manage, coach, and develop Associates.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities in a leadership role.
  • Strong cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

Location coverage: This HR Manager role covers HEXPOL Compounding Americas (HCA) sites in Akron and Barberton.
