Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute recruitment and selection activities to fill vacancies.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Support benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Perform classification and compensation studies to inform pay structures.
  • Interpret personnel policies, labor agreements, and applicable employment laws.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate workforce reports.
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
  • Support labor relations, training, wellness initiatives, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with departments to provide timely HR solutions.

This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the same or lower classifications.

Application and selection process

Applications will be screened carefully, and selected applicants will be invited to participate in the Structured Panel Interview. The appointing hiring authority will review the job-related qualifications of those deemed eligible for hire before making selection decisions. The process may be modified based on the needs of the City.

Pre-employment process

Selected candidates must successfully pass a fingerprint check with the State Department of Justice. Education and employment verification and reference checks will also be conducted.
