Job Description

Avancez Assembly seeks an on-site Human Resources Generalist to support a busy manufacturing plant in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role covers payroll processing, recruitment support, benefits administration, documentation, communications, event planning, and other HR duties under the supervision of the Plant HR Manager, contributing to a safety-focused, values-driven work culture on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruiting process, conduct interviews and tests to fill vacancies
  • Develop HR solutions by collecting data and recommending actions
  • Improve manager and team performance by diagnosing issues, evaluating options, and coaching
  • Maintain development plans, including training plans and performance reviews
  • Promote the company values, objectives, and culture
  • Plan and conduct new-hire orientations to align with company goals
  • Manage and coordinate team member recognition programs
  • Communicate announcements and policy changes clearly and promptly
  • Support HR and organization by handling diverse requests and assisting others
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and open communications, e.g., town hall meetings
  • Adhere to Android's processes and procedures
  • Respond to inquiries about policies, procedures, and programs
  • Monitor tardiness and absenteeism; document issues for affected employees
  • Prepare separation notices and conduct exit interviews
  • Assist with workers' compensation processes
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Administer benefits programs including life, health, dental, disability, pension, vacation, sick leave, and EAP
  • Track vacation, sick days, and holidays
  • Promote safety as a core value and support safety initiatives
  • Assist with safety issues and coordinate EH&S activities through leadership
  • Complete special HR projects with objectives, timelines, research, and reporting
  • Maintain records of benefits participation and HR transactions for government reporting
  • Prepare and analyze government-required reports; ensure compliance with regulations
  • Respond to unemployment claims and participate in hearings as needed
  • Stay compliant with legal requirements and advise management accordingly
  • Retain employee records in line with company and legal requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
