Job Description

Onsite HR Generalist role at American Air Filter International in Columbia, MO, supporting time and attendance, employee relations, recruitment, and record retention across multiple HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, rollout, and management of HR programs across payroll, recruiting, performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits, records management, safety and health, succession planning, and compliance.
  • Use HR and timekeeping systems to administer time and attendance and coordinate payroll period closing with the Corporate Payroll department.
  • Enhance and facilitate trainings, onboarding sessions, and exit interviews; explain compensation and benefits programs to new hires and existing staff.
  • Guide supervisor and employee performance through issue identification, policy interpretation, solution evaluation and implementation, and coaching.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers to address HR issues while maintaining positive working relationships and credibility.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management activities.
  • Maintain HRIS and generate reporting metrics to support HR decisions.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Ensure timely, accurate submission of HR data to corporate HR systems, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; candidates must have hands-on operations experience supporting HR or business functions.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Human Resources role, manufacturing background preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR law and related areas including OSHA, Payroll, EEO, AA, and Benefits.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of employment law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and efficient employee records.

Position Objective

Provides services and support in multiple functional areas of Human Resources. Responsibility for Time and Attendance Administration, employee relations activities, recruitment, and record retention. May support operating units by implementing Human Resources programs and solving performance problems.
