Job Description
Foot Locker's Corporate Office in New York hosts a hybrid Human Resources Generalist who oversees core HR operations, from onboarding and offboarding to compensation, engagement and development. The role reports to the Senior HR Manager and collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence to implement people programs that support business priorities.
Overview
This hybrid position is based at Foot Locker's Corporate Office in New York, NY, with an in-office schedule of three days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). The role offers a salary range of USD 67,000 – 80,000 per year and reports to the Senior HR Manager while partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to deploy policies and programs for onboarding, offboarding, compensation and engagement, with an emphasis on employee retention.
Responsibilities
- Assists with fundamental workforce planning through analysis and forecasting.
- Monitors core HR metrics such as turnover and open positions.
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners to achieve shared business goals.
- Manages change initiatives within business support functions.
- Supports routine HR administration, including onboarding, paperwork processing, and maintaining employee data.
- Supports performance management and development efforts alongside managers.
- Provides HR guidance and triages employee concerns, partnering with HR Managers on more complex employee relations matters.
- Builds a broad network of relationships to provide support at multiple levels of staff and leadership.
- Communicates ideas with tact and clarity, delivering information concisely and logically.
- Delivers clear, professional communications tailored to different audiences.
- Supports efforts to foster a culture of collaboration, belonging and engagement.
- Interprets and advises on basic HR issues such as employee relations and policies.
- Provides data and insights to inform conversations around performance management and engagement.
- Assists in executing strategic plans to improve workplace environment and retention.
- Performs transactional tasks including sharing updated org charts, assessment reporting, and data to support storytelling.
- Assists in drafting requisitions and job descriptions to facilitate postings and leadership meetings.
- Anticipates support needs for talent planning discussions with functional leaders.
- Collects and verifies employee data for reporting and analysis.
- Prepares basic reports (headcount, turnover, demographic metrics) using HR systems.
- Responds to ad hoc data requests from managers and HR leaders.
- Maintains data integrity by keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Significant exposure to HRIS systems; experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, Kronos, and SuccessFactors is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with HR data reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
