Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Empire Valorize, LLC seeks a Human Resources Generalist based in Charlotte, NC to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, payroll support, performance management, and HR reporting in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee posting of vacancies, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and prepare offer letters.
- Assist with new hire orientation and the onboarding process.
- Verify completion of onboarding paperwork, Form I-9, and other mandatory employment documents.
- Maintain applicant tracking system records.
- Act as a point of contact for staff inquiries on HR policies, benefits, and employment-related concerns.
- Support employee coaching, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Promote employee engagement and a constructive workplace culture.
- Support benefits administration, including health, retirement plans, COBRA, and leave programs.
- Assist with open enrollment and benefit changes.
- Address employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- Assist with compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, workers’ compensation, COBRA, HIPAA, DOT, IRA, and prevailing wage requirements.
- Maintain precise personnel files and HR records.
- Support audits, reporting, and documentation for compliance purposes.
- Aid managers with performance evaluations and calendar of reviews.
- Support employee development and training initiatives.
- Process personnel actions that impact payroll.
- Coordinate with the payroll team to maintain accurate employee records.
- Maintain paid time off and leave records; verify timekeeping as needed.
- Update and maintain HRIS records.
- Prepare employment verification letters and other HR communications.
- Generate HR reports and workforce metrics.
- Assist with policy development and updates to the employee handbook.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Spanish is required.
- 2 to 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a Generalist role.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with HRIS or payroll systems.
- Experience with Kronos, Prestige, or eBacon.
- Experience in construction, renewable energy/solar, manufacturing, transportation, or multi-state employment.
- Experience with prevailing wage, certified payroll, DOT/FMCSA compliance, or audit support.

USD 60,000.00 - 65,000.00 per year
Education
Bachelor's degree is preferred
