Job Description
The State of New Mexico is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support District Five's HR team in Santa Fe. This on-site role focuses on payroll and benefits for more than 300 employees, supports new employee orientation and onboarding, and handles personnel transactions across district offices, patrols, and construction sites. The position offers an hourly wage of USD 2,488 to 3,732.
Responsibilities
- Provide biweekly payroll and benefits support for District Five staff, offices, patrols, and construction locations, with an emphasis on customer service and consistent operations for 300+ employees.
- Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding, including payroll, benefits, and enrollment during orientation.
- Process biweekly payroll actions and related payroll processing tasks.
- Audit biweekly payroll and related actions to ensure correct processing.
- Handle hires, transfers, and terminations as needed, coordinating payroll and benefits processing and closure.
- Maintain personnel files for new hires and current employees and support personnel transactions as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Alternatively, four years of combined education and/or direct experience from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required degree.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
