Job Description
Fierce Firearms offers a stable onsite HR leadership opportunity in Richmond, Utah, with a salary range of USD 60,000 to 70,000 per year. The Human Resources Manager will own day-to-day people operations for a 100–120 person ITAR-regulated manufacturing environment, serving as the sole point of accountability for payroll, benefits, recruiting, compliance, and employee relations. This on-site role provides a direct, hands-on opportunity to influence workforce operations and overall production health.
Responsibilities
- Run end-to-end payroll through Gusto with zero-error accuracy, including time capture, approvals, multi-rate and overtime calculations, deductions, garnishments, PTO accruals, tax filings, and GL reconciliation.
- Administer health, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave programs; manage open enrollment, qualifying life events, COBRA, and carrier coordination through Gusto.
- Own full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles—from sourcing and screening to interviews, offers, background checks, and onboarding to keep production staffing aligned with demand.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary action, and performance issues; coach supervisors on direct, fair, and consistent leadership.
- Maintain compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, workers’ comp, and Utah labor law; manage I-9 / E-Verify, ITAR personnel screening support, and accurate, audit-ready records.
- Administer onboarding, offboarding, job descriptions, the employee handbook, policy, and HRIS data integrity; deliver clean people metrics on headcount, turnover, attendance, and time-to-fill.
- Partner with the COO/CFO and floor supervisors to translate workforce needs into staffing, training, and retention actions that protect throughput and quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience with direct, hands-on payroll ownership; Gusto experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven depth across benefits administration, full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, and HR compliance; capable of managing all four areas independently.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and Utah employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA) and comfort operating in a regulated, security-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with HRIS / payroll platforms, time-and-attendance systems, and Microsoft 365 with solid spreadsheet capabilities for clean reporting.
- Manufacturing, industrial, or other hourly-workforce experience is highly desirable; ITAR / ATF-regulated exposure is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field; PHR or SHRM-CP certification is welcome.
