Job Description
Fierce Firearms seeks a hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee payroll, benefits, recruiting, compliance, and employee relations within a 100–120-person, ITAR-regulated manufacturing environment. This onsite role is based in Provo, Utah.

Responsibilities
- Payroll: administer end-to-end payroll processing with Gusto, including time capture, approvals, multi-rate and overtime calculations, deductions, garnishments, PTO accruals, tax filings, and GL reconciliation with exact accuracy.
- Benefits: manage health, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave programs; oversee open enrollment, life events, COBRA, and carrier coordination through Gusto.
- Talent: lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles—sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers, background checks, and onboarding to maintain production staffing.
- Employee Relations: serve as the primary contact for questions, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance issues; coach supervisors on fair, direct leadership.
- Compliance: ensure adherence to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, workers’ comp, and Utah employment laws; oversee I-9 / E-Verify, ITAR screening support, and maintain audit-ready records.
- Operations: manage onboarding/offboarding, job descriptions, employee handbook, policy updates, and HRIS data integrity; produce clean metrics on headcount, turnover, attendance, and time-to-fill.
- Partnership: collaborate with the COO/CFO and floor supervisors to translate workforce needs into staffing, training, and retention actions that sustain throughput and quality.
Requirements
- Foundation: 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience with direct, hands-on payroll administration.
- Gusto: strong preference for experience using Gusto.
- Breadth: demonstrated depth across benefits administration, full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, and HR compliance; able to handle all areas independently.
- Compliance: practical knowledge of federal and Utah employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA) and comfort operating in a regulated, security-sensitive environment.
- Systems: proficiency with HRIS / payroll platforms, time and attendance systems, and Microsoft 365 for building clean reporting.
- Environment: experience in manufacturing, industrial, or other hourly-workforce settings strongly preferred; ITAR/ATF-regulated exposure is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field; PHR or SHRM-CP certification is welcomed.

Experience
Minimum of 5 years in human resources, with direct payroll ownership and hands-on responsibility.
