Human Resources Manager
Job Description
The Human Resources Manager will lead employee relations, ensure labor law compliance, and oversee office administration for a growing 50-employee commercial general contractor in Newport Beach, California. This is a full-time onsite role.

- Salary: USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Oversee employee relations, monitor timekeeping, track expenses, and maintain internal communications.
- Track wage and hour records and submit biweekly payroll data to the payroll processor.
- Review daily hours, breaks, and overtime using Workforce and QuickBooks, addressing discrepancies and violations with employees.
- Coordinate time off requests including vacation approvals, accruals, sick time, and leaves of absence.
- Monitor deductions for insurance, wage garnishments, and CalSavers contributions.
- Maintain employee files, payroll records, and insurance data.
- Recruitment and onboarding duties including posting job advertisements, matching candidates to role requirements, conducting initial interviews, and completing new hire documentation and orientation.
- Administer benefits including employee enrollment, annual renewals, and bill reconciliation.
- Oversee terminations, conduct exit meetings, finalize pay, manage related legal documentation, and address unemployment disputes.
- Conduct incident investigations and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Coordinate with information technology and telecommunications to arrange equipment orders and provide tech support.
- Plan employee events, celebrations, and gifts.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in an HR management position.
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws.
- Proven communication skills.
- Highly organized and proactive approach.
