Junior Recruiter
Job Description
Support Lamons’ recruiting operations in Houston by assisting with sourcing, screening, coordination, and pre-employment processing for assigned roles.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day recruiting for full-time and temporary roles from posting through start date
- Partner with hiring managers to keep job descriptions, hiring criteria, and workforce needs current
- Post open positions on approved internal and external channels
- Source candidates via job boards, workforce partnerships, employee referrals, staffing agencies, and other channels
- Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates
- Conduct phone screens to confirm qualifications, availability, and interest
- Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers and follow up to gather feedback
- Provide hiring managers updates on candidate status across the recruiting pipeline
- Assist HR leadership with offer logistics, including offer letter preparation and start date confirmation tasks
- Initiate and track pre-employment steps such as background checks, employment verifications, drug screenings, and work eligibility documentation
- Support temp-to-perm conversion by preparing documentation for review and approval
- Maintain candidate and requisition information accuracy in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Compile recruiting reports (applicant flow, time-to-fill, requisition status) for HR leadership
- Track agency usage and recruiting budget spend
- Support documentation needs for recruiting-related audits
- Help ensure recruiting practices follow company policy and employment law
- Maintain recruiting files in line with company policy and record-retention requirements
- Participate in job fairs, hiring events, and workforce initiatives as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build effective working relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and external agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to manage a high volume of calls to and from candidates
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn the organization’s ATS and HRIS systems
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: Previous experience working or volunteering in an office environment requiring confidentiality and strong organizational skills
Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (or coursework in progress) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Work Experience
- Required: Previous experience working or volunteering in an office environment requiring confidentiality and strong organizational skills
- Preferred: Six months to one year of Human Resources experience through employment, internships, or related coursework
