PROGRAM ANALYST I
Job Description
Dallas County in Dallas, TX (onsite) is seeking an entry-level Program Analyst I to support HR program administration under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Execute entry-level HR tasks across assigned areas including recruiting and employment, compensation and benefits, workers' compensation and safety, employee relations and staff development, payroll and time and attendance; respond to routine questions and resolve routine issues.
- Prepare or assist with basic training programs in large departments, assemble training materials and documents, schedule core HR classes and seminars, and set up training rooms.
- Assist with data collection and analysis and participate in special projects or studies related to salary administration (surveys), benefits, staff development, workers' compensation, turnover, and other HR analyses.
- Support new employee orientation, civil service hearings, unemployment compensation, employee insurance programs, and policy updates, including explaining basic HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain databases and electronic statistics on work products and employee information; assist in preparing required reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent HR experience.
- Proficient with standard software applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
- Ability to gather, organize, and assist in analyzing narrative and statistical data.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply procedures, rules, and laws.
- Basic knowledge of the principles of human resource management practices.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to fair employment practices.
- Understanding of equal employment opportunity principles.
- Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality.
