Job Description

Central Virginia Community College is offering a full-time, on-site Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Analyst role in Lynchburg, VA. The position carries a salary range of $59,000 to $65,000 per year and focuses on guiding the employment process, ensuring compliance with EEO/AA, VCCS and DHRM policies, and supporting recruitment across classified, administrative, faculty, wage, and student positions. Based in Lynchburg, you will manage job ads, screening, and HR training across topics, contributing to a collaborative, people-centered campus culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the college's hiring workflow for classified, administrative and professional faculty, teaching faculty, wage, and student roles.
  • Drafts clear job advertisements in alignment with VCCS and DHRM policy.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with college managers and supervisors to streamline the employment process.
  • Assembles applicant pools and submits them to committees within established deadlines.
  • Maintains open communication with managers to facilitate efficient screening processes.
  • Provides guidance and resolves recruitment challenges promptly.
  • Interprets EEO guidelines and fair employment practices, offering practical guidance.
  • Trains supervisors on interview processes as needed.
  • Acts as the liaison for the V3 Virginia Values Veterans Program.
  • Serves as a Virginia Learning Center Administrator.
  • Creates and leads training sessions on various HR topics.

Requirements

  • Significant experience and education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Excel is beneficial.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR principles and practices, including employment practices, recruitment/selection, classification, compensation analysis, record retention, and customer service.
  • Ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures, analyze data, present conclusions, and review documentation for policy adherence.
  • Capability to independently guide staff at all levels on HR matters, prioritize multiple tasks, and exercise sound judgment to resolve workplace issues.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to human resources issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
