Job Description
Markel Service Inc. offers a hybrid Senior Recruiter role in Glen Allen, VA, with a competitive annual salary between USD 80,000 and 90,000. This position partners with business leaders and HR to shape staffing plans, attract top talent, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. If you bring at least five years of full life-cycle recruiting, you will help drive strategic initiatives and lessons that support Markel’s brand and values.

Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment strategy for open requisitions with a focus on building a robust talent pipeline to satisfy current and future staffing needs.
- Manage full life-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening and assessment, candidate submittals, interview coordination, and offer negotiation on behalf of Markel.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to plan recruiting initiatives, monitor trends, provide competitive intelligence, and ensure headcount alignment.
- Provide regular updates and calibration for hiring teams and HRBusiness Partners.
- Apply the Markel EVP to implement marketing strategies aligned with brand, vision and core values to attract diverse, exceptional talent.
- Develop sourcing approaches that include passive candidates using networking, Workday Recruiter, social media, job boards, referrals, SEO, and LinkedIn recruitment tools.
- Proactively build and maintain beneficial business relationships through industry contacts, associations, trade groups, and online networks.
- Contribute to enhancing talent acquisition processes and operations to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Five or more years of full life-cycle corporate recruiting experience with a proven record of identifying and engaging top talent.
- Ability to perform all aspects of talent search, including leveraging AI tools, search optimization, innovative sourcing programs, passive candidate mining, networking, pre-screening, offer negotiations, and candidate relationship management.
- Proficiency with various sourcing techniques and tools, including AI, Boolean search, market research, LinkedIn Recruiter, and social media.
- Exceptional client service and candidate relationship management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information.
- Strong critical thinking based on data, with consideration of input, ethics, and values.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, with Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Insurance or financial services recruiting experience is preferred.

Pay Information
The base salary is determined by factors including education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other relevant factors. The national salary range for this Senior Recruiter role is $80,000 to $90,000, with a potential 15% bonus.
