This onsite Senior Human Resources Manager role is based at our Arkansas City, Kansas facility, partnering with site leadership to drive HR initiatives, employee engagement, and compliance across HR functions.
Role overview
The Senior Human Resources Manager leads HR operations for the Arkansas City site, acting as a strategic partner to local leadership. This hands‑on role focuses on building high performing teams, advancing HR programs, and upholding regulatory compliance across all HR functions for approximately 300 employees.
Responsibilities
- Lead all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals
- Oversee recruiting and staffing to attract and retain top talent
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, and others)
- Manage employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns
- Drive performance management processes and employee development programs
- Administer compensation and benefits programs
- Develop and implement training, engagement, and retention initiatives
- Maintain accurate HR records and reporting systems
- Conduct exit interviews and apply insights to retention strategies
- Support and enforce organizational policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 10–15 years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices
- Proven ability to partner with leadership and drive business results
- Master’s degree in HR, Business, Public Administration, or related field
- SHRM‑CP, PHR, or similar certification
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Safety and compliance
Lead workplace safety initiatives and ensure adherence to OSHA and other regulations, fostering a safe, productive, and compliant work environment.
Leadership responsibilities
- Provide leadership for HR programs supporting approximately 300 employees
- Supervise a small HR team
- Support a 24/7 operation, including off‑shift availability as needed
Schedule and setting
- Shift: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with business needs considered
- Work environment involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs
